General Terms and Conditions
The Berlin BioScience Academy (BBA), formerly Gläsernes Labor Akademie (GLA), is part of the Campus Berlin-Buch GmbH.
Confirmation:
Participation becomes binding upon confirmation of registration by the organizer.
Venue:
Campus Berlin-Buch, Robert-Rössle-Straße 10, 13125 Berlin.
Online courses take place on the basis of Zoom / SeaFile.
Services:
For fee-based events, the participation fee includes course materials and, for on-site events, beverages during the course. Each course participant receives a script as a working document and a certificate of participation at the end of the course. For laboratory courses and internships, all consumables are included; a lab coat is provided on loan free of charge.
Payment terms:
The participation fee is exclusive of VAT. Registered participants will generally receive an invoice at least 14 days before the start of the course. The amount should be transferred at least 7 days before the start of the course.
Cancellation policy:
For cancellations by participants
- up to 30 days before the start of the course, a processing fee of €50.00 plus VAT will be charged;
- between 30 and 7 days before the start of the course, 50% of the participation fee will be charged;
- after the 6th day before the start of the course, a refund of the course fee is no longer possible.
If the BBA has to cancel the event, the participation fee will be refunded. Further claims are excluded.
Content and lecturers / trainers:
The content, schedule, date, and location of the continuing education course, as well as the assignment of lecturers / trainers, may be changed while maintaining the overall character of the event. If participation is not possible due to a change in date by the organizer, participants may rebook for a new date for the same course.
Liability:
If an event has to be canceled, even if the BBA is responsible for this circumstance, only paid participation fees will be refunded. Further claims are excluded. The BBA is liable for damages for which it is responsible—regardless of the legal basis—only to the extent that it is guilty of intent and/or gross negligence. The BBA is not liable for the loss or theft of items brought along, in particular clothing containing valuables.
Copyright for course materials:
The BBA grants course participants a limited right of use for all course-related documents (scripts, slide collections) for the duration of the contract. Use is restricted to the use of the documents for the continuing education course. It is not permitted to pass on or publish the documents to third parties without the consent of the BBA.
Legal validity:
Legally binding is the German version of the “General Terms and Conditions for Continuing Education Courses (AGB)” in its current version.
